Italian Beer Sommelier Championship 2025

Last weekend marked a turning point in my professional path: I was honored to be crowned Italian Beer Sommelier Champion 2024, earning a spot in the World Final to be held in Munich in 2025.

This achievement is not just the result of a single competition, but the culmination of years of dedication, study, and an unwavering passion for beer and fermentation.

🍺 What Does It Mean to Be a Beer Sommelier?

A Beer Sommelier is more than just a taster — we are storytellers, educators, and ambassadors of beer culture. From sensory analysis and off-flavor recognition to food pairings and style identification, the role requires deep knowledge, refined sensory skills, and the ability to communicate beer with purpose and emotion.

Competing at this level challenges your senses and your mind. It pushes you to become a better professional, and a better communicator.

🏆 A Dream Come True

The Italian Championship was intense: blind tastings, off-flavor detection, beer presentation in front of a jury. Taking first place was a proud moment, but I see it not as a finish line — rather, it’s the beginning of something greater.

Now the real training begins, with eyes set on the global stage.

The World Championship of Beer Sommeliers will bring together the best tasters from around the globe. It’s an honor to represent Italy’s beer culture on such a prestigious international platform, and I’m training every day to give my very best.
